I’m a freelance communicator and community builder who helps mission-driven organizations engage their audiences creatively and effectively for social change.
Hello, my name is Wesley Cocozello
Over the past decade, I’ve led communications, programmatic, and strategic initiatives for organizations like the Inter-religious Working Group on Extractive Industries, Faiths for Biodiversity, and the US Catholic Mission Association, among others. Highlights of my work include:
Leading Catholic Climate Covenant’s incorporation as an independent 501(c)(3) and strengthening its governance and operational procedures.
Co-creating an advocacy training program for young adults from low-income and immigrant communities along the US-Mexico border.
Leading communications strategies for faith-based engagement at three UN conferences: CBD COP15 in Montreal, Canada (where I also resourced the first-ever “faith pavilion” at a UN environmental COP); CBD COP16 in Cali, Colombia; and UNOC3 in Nice, France.
I live in Washington, DC, where I’m active in a housing coop and lead a spiritual companions community with Catholic sisters. I earned my BA in English Literature from The Catholic University of America.

I work on a day rate of $600, which accounts for seven hours of work per day. Charging by the day allows me to dedicate meaningful time to your project, ensuring quality results rather than rushed work.
If you’re interested in partnering with me, the first step is a complimentary consultation. This initial conversation is an opportunity for us to explore your goals, challenges, and how I can best support your work. It also gives us a chance to determine if we’re a good fit for each other.
Before starting any project, we’ll agree upfront on key details including the scope of work, timelines and deadlines, communication and decision-making processes, and lines of accountability. Clear agreements helps us set mutual expectations and ensure a healthy, productive partnership.
I’m committed to transparency and collaboration throughout our work together and welcome open communication to keep the project on track and aligned with your mission.
